Why it grips

A branching narrative where choices matter

Choices ripple forward

Decisions in chapter one echo into act four. The story remembers, so every playthrough carries real weight instead of resetting between scenes.

26 lives in your hands

Allies, rivals, and stranger things track trust and loyalty. Who survives your story depends on how you treat them, not on a stat screen.

Three endings. No easy answers.

Three distinct endings plus a hidden fourth. None of them is clean, so finishing once is only the beginning of the argument.

Light turn-based combat

Short tactical encounters raise the stakes without demanding reflexes. This is interactive fiction first, not an action RPG.

Reads like a novel, offline

The full story is on your device in English and French. A commute, a flight, a blackout: the city waits wherever you are.

No gems. No energy timers.

Nothing meters your reading. Act 1 is free in full, and one purchase unlocks everything else forever. That is the whole economy.

Why Kurk

Built for readers, not for whales

01

A complete story, sold once

One purchase of $4.99 unlocks Acts 2 to 4 for life and removes ads. No subscription, no season pass, no drip feed.

02

Psychological horror with restraint

The dread is literary. Neogothic streets, quiet corruption, and consequences that arrive pages after the choice that caused them.

03

Honest about what it is

Reading, choosing, and light turn-based fights in the 80 Days tradition. If you want real-time action, this is not it, and we say so.

04

Free players read a real book

Act 1 is the entire first act, not a teaser. Interstitial ads appear only between its chapters, and Premium removes them.

From the pages

What you will live

Silence. The kind that fills a room the way water fills a hull, slowly, completely, from the bottom up.

Act 1: The Posting

Another window. Another shape. A third on the rooftop, standing at the roof's edge, looking down. Not at the scouting party. At the city.

Act 2: Landfall

The silence after the song is the most human sound in Kurk.

Act 4: The Threshold
